"Messi Makes History: Scores 800th Career Goal Upon Returning from Argentina's World Cup Victory"

Lionel Messi, who is 35 years old, scored his 99th international goal during a soccer match. He scored it from a free-kick with only one minute left in the game. This made the 83,000 fans at the Monumental de Nunez Stadium in Buenos Aires very happy and excited. After the game, Messi said, "I always wanted this moment to happen, to celebrate with you in my country Argentina."

Lionel Messi rounded off a night of celebration with his 800th professional goal as Argentina beat Panama 2-0 in their first match since winning the World Cup.

 Messi scored his 99th international goal from a free-kick after 89 minutes, making the crowd go wild.

 Thiago Almada scored the opener 11 minutes before after Messi's free-kick hit the post. The starting line-up was the same as in the World Cup final, with the team posing for pictures in front of a replica trophy before the game. Panama's goalkeeper made several saves, and their defence fought hard to keep out the World Cup champions. Argentina won their third World Cup title and first in 36 years, with Messi saying he always dreamed of lifting the trophy in Argentina.
